Utility Shutoff Moratorium is Over

As of April 1st, the utility shutoff moratorium is over.  Utilities subject to the Pennsylvania Utility Commission’s regulations may begin shutting off utilities for delinquent accounts.

Households having difficulty paying their rent and/or utilities should seek assistance through the Emergency Rental and Utility Assistance Program. Find out how to apply through the state’s COMPASS website.

Households with low incomes behind on their heating bills should apply to the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) today to get assistance. The window to apply to the program closes this month.
